I18N_UnicodeString uses the self:: keyword in lines 123, 139, 231, 237, 376, 380, 494. As it is written in PHP4 this should be replaced by I18N_UnicodeString::

This bug has been fixed in CVS.
If this was a documentation problem, the fix will appear on pear.php.net by the end of next Sunday (CET).
If this was a problem with the pear.php.net website, the change should be live shortly.
Otherwise, the fix will appear in the package's next release.

Given this one is beta; there probably is no harm in bumping to PHP5.
