Supporting TypePad AntiSpam is as easy as changing the API endpoint and getting another API key. Besides the API is 100% compatible with Akismet.
So there's two things:
a) Make the class members protected in the Service_Akismet class.
b) Maybe offer a setter.
If you want/need, I could write a small tutorial for people how to use TypePad AntiSpam using your class.

Till, I will implement both of these features in Services_Akismet2, which is almost ready for release. I'd certainly appreciate some help writing high-level documentation as well.
