I have the same error on RedHat 8.0. For me, it comes from an error cause by my proxy, it needs an authentification ... (of course i set my env and use lynx -pauth) Here the response from my proxy, and then the error : Bootstrapping: PEAR...................(remote) <HTML><HEAD><TITLE>Proxy authorization required</TITLE></HEAD> <BODY><H1>Proxy authorization required</H1> Username authentication is required for using this proxy. Either your browser does not perform proxy authorization, or your authorization has failed. </BODY></HTML>ok Bootstrapping: Archive_Tar............(remote) ok Bootstrapping: Console_Getopt.........(remote) ok Downloading package: DB...............ok Downloading package: Net_Socket.......ok Downloading package: Net_SMTP.........ok Downloading package: Mail.............ok Downloading package: XML_Parser.......ok Downloading package: PHPUnit..........ok Fatal error: Undefined class name 'pear' in - on line 681
