Description: ------------ Fedora Packaging Guidelines requires that each RPM includes the LICENSE file, when provided by upstream, and to request for it when missing. So I do. http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Packaging/LicensingGuidelines#License_Text P.S. especially for BSD which have multiple variants.

thanks for the report! Could you point me to a PEAR package where the LICENSE file is part of the distribution package? Then I can prepare a new release. Or would a <license uri="...">...</license> in package.xml suffice?

Lot of PEAR packages include LICENSE FIle. Ex : Net_DNS2 (which is also BSD) https://code.google.com/p/netdns2/source/browse/ > Or would a <license uri="...">...</license> in package.xml suffice? Not enough. Need the file (with role="doc") in the archive.
