This function will be added into PHP 6 again as far as I know and only deprecated but Lorenzo might want to do method_exists or something but I'd advice against it.

This bug has been fixed in CVS. If this was a documentation problem, the fix will appear on pear.php.net by the end of next Sunday (CET). If this was a problem with the pear.php.net website, the change should be live shortly. Otherwise, the fix will appear in the package's next release. Thank you for the report and for helping us make PEAR better.

Lorenzo, please change the summary of this report and in the changelog since PHP 6 won't actually remove the function.

It won't? Are you sure? Should I revert?

Well, nah it's fine to keep it in, pretty sure we'll have a new Pager (v2 or some) by the time PHP 6 is out ;-)
