Manual page: package.database.db-table.intro-generator.php
$generator->tables = array('table1', 'table2', 'table3'); doesn't work with MDB2, I had to use DB

I'm not David, but I have the answer ;-)

In DB_Table_Generator::getTableDefinition() the Manager/Reverse module was not loaded.
DB_Table_Generator::generateTableClassFiles should also return a PEAR_Error, if there occurs any in the getTableDefinition() call.

This bug has been fixed in CVS.
If this was a documentation problem, the fix will appear on pear.php.net by the end of next Sunday (CET).
If this was a problem with the pear.php.net website, the change should be live shortly.
Otherwise, the fix will appear in the package's next release.

Thanks, Carsten. I have changed your patch: the portability setting of MDB2 is now saved, and set back later. This might not be needed, but this follows the idea of resetting the 'idxname_format' setting.
