According to the documentation panes can be freezed just calling freezePanes method with an array containing just two elements (Vertical split position, Horizontal split position).
But doing this, raises an error at _storePanes method while generating the excel sheet, because it doesn't check the array length to initialize the variables ($rwTop, $colLeft).
I should modify the following lines at "Worksheet.php" file as described below:
[2492] $rwTop = (count($panes) > 2)? $panes[2] : null;
[2493] $colLeft = (count($panes) > 3)? $panes[3] : null;
