Description: ------------ A feature where, when uploading a patch, one can select one or more existing patches for obsoletion (like Bugzilla) would be extremely useful. This is particularly the case on long or complex bugs where many patches may be submitted, and it can be hard keeping track of which ones are "current".

currently, you can upload a newer revision of an existing patch. Does this fit your needs? If so, I'll mark this as bogus

How? Is this just based on the filename of the patch? It's not obvious to me. However in any case, I think the feature described here would be useful because quite often patches are merged, code changes etc., so one patch may obsolete 2 earlier ones etc.

ok, we'll do it then

This bug has been fixed in CVS. If this was a documentation problem, the fix will appear on pear.php.net by the end of next Sunday (CET). If this was a problem with the pear.php.net website, the change should be live shortly. Otherwise, the fix will appear in the package's next release. Thank you for the report and for helping us make PEAR better.
