A lone zero block seems to be known issue in specific tar implementations. http://pear.php.net/bugs/bug.php?id=3694 The package installs fine in several of my hosts. What version of pear installer do you have?

I have this problem on Mandriva 2006.0, too. I tried to untar and re-tar the package, but it didn't help. Now 'tar xvzf' runs without a warning, but 'pear install' still produces XML error: not well-formed (invalid token) at line 8 This is with php-pear-5.0.4-14mdk and File_Find-0.3.1.tgz.

File_Find version 1.2.0 works fine.

Thank you for taking the time to report a problem with the package. Unfortunately you are not using a current version of the package -- the problem might already be fixed. Please download a new version from http://pear.php.net/packages.php If you are able to reproduce the bug with one of the latest versions, please change the package version on this bug report to the version you tested and change the status back to "Open". Again, thank you for your continued support of PEAR. 0.4.0 is very old beta version. richtl, can you confirm the bug still actual for latest 1.2.2?

Sorry, but your problem does not imply a bug in PEAR itself. For a list of more appropriate places to ask for help using PEAR, please visit http://pear.php.net/support/ as this bug system is not the appropriate forum for asking support questions. Thank you for your interest in PEAR. We discussed that when Greg added this feature, it is easier to have a text field here. A developer can specify whatever he has to and not only cvs or latest.

Ahem. Pajoye. You've posted the comment into wrong bugreport. Perhaps bug #6828 is a more appropriate place for it. =) So, if you repost it there we may continue discussion without confusing other users.

No feedback was provided. The bug is being suspended because we assume that you are no longer experiencing the problem. If this is not the case and you are able to provide the information that was requested earlier, please do so and change the status of the bug back to "Open". Thank you.
