Description: ------------ The is_error() function had a keyword "private" in front of it, and PHP 4.4.9 choked on it. Since this package claims that it supports PHP 4.3+, please remove the private keyword from the function definition. Since this system wouldn't let me file a bug against 4.*, I had to lie and put PHP version = 5.4.2 instead.

This bug has been fixed in SVN. If this was a documentation problem, the fix will appear on pear.php.net by the end of next Sunday (CET). If this was a problem with the pear.php.net website, the change should be live shortly. Otherwise, the fix will appear in the package's next release. Thank you for the report and for helping us make PEAR better.
