Some drivers, such as postgresql, support auto detection of result types using <driver>_field_type function if MDB2_Result_<driver>::setResultTypes(NULL) is called. But if you use MDB2_PREPARE_RESULT (ie NULL) when calling MDB2_Driver::prepare(), setResultTypes() is not called, and as a result, all result columns are considered to be text.
