Anyone can comment on a bug. Have a simpler test case? Does it work for you on a different platform? Let us know! Just going to say 'Me too!'? Don't clutter the database with that please !

Description: ------------ I started looking at WARNING: Function 'ereg' is deprecated, please use 'preg_match' instead in file ./File_DNS/DNS.php line 1156 ...and I made a test for it. Then I saw that the regular expression needed expanding, and found a good one online. The URL is included as a comment in the code. The patch also includes tests for the new logic, as a PHPT file.

This bug has been fixed in SVN. If this was a documentation problem, the fix will appear on pear.php.net by the end of next Sunday (CET). If this was a problem with the pear.php.net website, the change should be live shortly. Otherwise, the fix will appear in the package's next release. Thank you for the report and for helping us make PEAR better. If you are really keen, you could rely on Net_IPv4 here...
