Anyone can comment on a bug. Have a simpler test case? Does it work for you on a different platform? Let us know! Just going to say 'Me too!'? Don't clutter the database with that please !

I found the problem. I have to explicitly use 'encoding' => 'ISO-8859-1' and 'targetEncoding' => 'ISO-8859-1' when creating the $unserializer object. Even though this is the encoding which is found in the XML tag.
