Description: ------------ Line 49 says: define('VALIDATE_EALPHA_LOWER', VALIDATE_ALPHA_LOWER . 'áéíóúàèìòùäëïöüâêîôûñçþæðåý'); Which IMHO means european characters used in addition to a-z. There is missing the german sharp s: 'ß' (Unicode: 0223). Which is common and necessary for german validation. Test script: --------------- $strTest = 'Straße'; function check_szlig($strTest) { $bCheck = VALIDATE::string($strTest,array('format' => VALIDATE_EALPHA_LOWER)); // should return TRUE but is FALSE return $bCheck; } echo check_szlig($strTest); Expected result: ---------------- TRUE Actual result: -------------- FALSE

This bug has been fixed in CVS. If this was a documentation problem, the fix will appear on pear.php.net by the end of next Sunday (CET). If this was a problem with the pear.php.net website, the change should be live shortly. Otherwise, the fix will appear in the package's next release. Thank you for the report and for helping us make PEAR better.
