Description: ------------ Since the constructor cannot return a PEAR_Error when the key passed is invalid, there is a gap in the system. To be compatible with PHP4, I suggest to use add a factory() method to the class. There should also be a check in the decrypt() and encrypt() method to see if the key was initialized properly. I'm working a patch that will also need a factory method to support CBC mode, so I think this would be a nice addition. Thanks, -Philippe

This bug has been fixed in CVS. If this was a documentation problem, the fix will appear on pear.php.net by the end of next Sunday (CET). If this was a problem with the pear.php.net website, the change should be live shortly. Otherwise, the fix will appear in the package's next release. Thank you for the report and for helping us make PEAR better.
