On http://pear.php.net/manual/en/package.database.db-dataobject.intro-purpose.php there is a typo in code example 26-3:
// now get the person and display the age.
$person ->name = "John";
should be:
// now get the person and display the age.
$person = new MyPerson;
$person->name = "John";
(note the space)
