Atleast the first change of r1.299 has broken php4 compatibility

I am getting those error messages:

17:23:05 10/30/07 [notice] PHP Error: Undefined index: username in /usr/share/php/MDB2/Driver/mysql.php at line 460
17:23:05 10/30/07 [notice] PHP Error: Undefined index: password in /usr/share/php/MDB2/Driver/mysql.php at line 461
17:23:05 10/30/07 [error] MDB2 Error: connect failed connect: [Error message: unable to establish a connection]
Re-adding the & does solve this issue.

I've restored the reference in the first change of r1.299 as suggested. If there are other issues, please reopen this bug report. Thank you!
