Description: ------------ http://svn.php.net/viewvc/pear/packages/Net_Whois/trunk/Whois.php?r1=300497&r2=300498 This change makes it more strict and less adaptable. Was there a problem with the previous regular expression? I tested it previously and it was a perfectly sufficient regular expression to match the string. I checked and was unable to replicate a "false positive". Do you have any examples?

What? No, this issue is not covered by that bug. It's not even related.

I've discovered some kind of looping bug with domains on the "whois.tucows.com" whois server. At the moment I can't diagnose the bug properly as I very quickly hit my daily limits and am presented with the following error: IP Address: ??.???.???.??? Maximum Daily connection limit reached. Lookup refused. What seems to happen is it keeps looking up the domain until the script times out...

I've reverted the change.

If this was a problem with the pear.php.net website, the change should be live shortly. Otherwise, the fix will appear in the package's next release. Thank you for the report and for helping us make PEAR better.
