    Great idea. Unfortunately, I cannot try this since I don't run Qmail/Vpopmail anymore. But glancing over it, I see this as a very valuable addition.

    Question though, since I didn't spot a dependency on the PECL extension, are you going to use it anyway (when available) or did you implement this totally independent (, and if so "why")?
