<file> タグの意味は package.xml 1.0 とほぼ同じです。 必須属性は name および role です。オプションの属性として baseinstalldir および md5sum を指定可能です。 オプションの属性 platform および install-as は、 release タグ に置き換えられました。特に、install-as を指定するには <install> が用いられ、<ignore> タグを <installconditions> とともに 使用することによって特定のプラットフォームでのみインストール対象外と することが可能です。

platform 属性になじみが深い人のために、例をあげて説明します。

ふたつめの <phprelease> の中に <installconditions> タグを 設定し、その中で <os>unix</os> を記述することもすぐに できますが、それは必要ではないことに注意しましょう。 というのも、ふたつめの release タグは、windows システム以外の すべての場合に処理されるからです。
