Вызовы функций должны быть написаны без пробелов между именем функции, открывающей скобкой и первым параметром. Пробелы должны присутствовать после каждой запятой в перечислении параметров. Пробелов также не должно быть между последним параметром, закрывающей скобкой и точкой с запятой. Вот пример:

$var = foo($bar, $baz, $quux);
?>
Как показано выше, пробелы должны быть с двух сторон от знака "=", используемого, чтобы присвоить переменной возвращаемое значение функции. В случае с блоком связанных присваиваний, может быть вставлено больше пробелов, чтобы повысить читабельность:

$short = foo($bar);
$long_variable = foo($baz);
?>
