Description: ------------ Got a core dump while issuing the `pear package`command. I figured out this was problem with the Zend Optimizer 2.5 that is installed on my FreeBSD server. Disabling the php.ini temporarily[*], I'm able to package the release tarball as expected. [*] %php -n -C -q -d include_path=/usr/local/www/lib/php -d output_buffering=1 /usr/local/www/lib/php/pearcmd.php package PS: is it possible to release a tarball made of Zend-encoded PHP source files? The files I tried to package are unencoded though. Reproduce code: --------------- %pear package Expected result: ---------------- Analyzing NLS.php Analyzing NLS/common.php Analyzing NLS/Message.php Analyzing NLS/Literal.php Analyzing NLS/Pattern.php Analyzing NLS/Sub.php Package /tmp/Diptyque/NLS-1.4.tgz done Actual result: -------------- % pear package Analyzing NLS.php Analyzing NLS/common.php Analyzing NLS/Message.php Analyzing NLS/Literal.php Analyzing NLS/Pattern.php Analyzing NLS/Sub.php Segmentation fault (core dumped) % gdb php -c php.core GNU gdb 4.18 Copyright 1998 Free Software Foundation, Inc. Sorry, but your problem does not imply a bug in PEAR itself. For a list of more appropriate places to ask for help using PEAR, please visit http://pear.php.net/support.php as this bug system is not the appropriate forum for asking support questions. Thank you for your interest in PEAR. Hello, Report this problem to Zend. If it works without the Zend plugin we cannot do anything. --Pierre

How to contact Zend regarding this issue? There is no support ticketing system available for reporting troubles with the Zend Optimizer such as the one I'm experiencing.
